  1. Has there been a reshaffle of cabinate? When did Mulongoti become Home affairs minister and Namugala community development minister?

  2. Am watching for actual issues as an indicatror of RB and his govt’s work. Small bridges are not a good indicator at all, especially looking at the tools in the picture (old stone technology), that bridge won’t last long when its complete!!

  3. I heard that the children in Northern Province were pointing at the president and shouting: “Balya a ba nambala wanu mu Zambia!”

  4. These chiefs seem to be well fed! How much are they getting per month from govt? The chief can’t even stand to greet the president!

  5. “The President was accompanied by Community Development Minister Catherine Namugala, Home Affairs Minister Mike Mulongoti, Finance and National Planning Deputy Minister Chileshe Kapwepwe. What was the importance of this delegation? Please, reduce on people who unnecessarily accompany the President!

  6. Akukopweni ba Banda…bwafya! Mukafifuluka ififintu. Ask Muka Regina, Chiluba, and his cousin Muka Beti, KK.

Make sure you work for your vote big man otherwise you are aleady in negatives so far!8-|

  7. Some comments on this blog are as ridiculous as the topics themselves,i think we can do better as a nation,is there any dynamic Zambian website with forward thinking people,i don’t know???

  8. They seem to be some progress. Something is better than nothing.
Maybe I’ll move back to the Northern side. Give us a shopping mall
and a few recreation areas and my money will all your.

  9. How do u build a bridge over a river of Kalungwishi’s size without equipment? No equipment visible in the background, bushe balebomfya inkasu?

  10. might aswell go off topic too, since it seems too be the trend… Just happy to see a colourful misisi thats constitutes the colours on the Zambian flag:)

  11. #12.Is Rupiah Banda God almighty for everyone to stand up when they see him? Hell no!!!!!!!! Besides there is no enough space there as u can see. I think it would ve been an inconvinience.

  12. Ba Maureen

Dont blame imfumu,he is innocent. That christmas tree was from Ba RB as a buque(spelling)RB walikopa filya ificitita pa airport when a receiving diplomats.

  13. I am a blessed child of two Kings: Chitimukulu and Litunga. I easily recognise my King from the North with his lovely simple cloth over his shoulder and a firm walking staff. I should say I have missed the Northern royal dressing. It is unique. Now I can’t tell between the King from the West and that of the North.

RB did not lower himself when he paid his courtesy call.

  14. bushe nyama soya alishiba politics ?Nga ni ka FTJ nga ka chi kunkula.Infact kwati ba RB balifina sana a bit of “metals and running away” would do some help

  15. The Chief has the orignal office setting. In tray, Pending tray and out tray. I can see that the out tray is empty. A few papers in the other two trays

  16. Nothing wrong with the christmas tree. Mine and so many others in my street still have christmas lights and the tree still standing in the house.
Bloggers please, sometimes learn to just shut up.

  17. Maestro Hhehhehhehhe i like your signature “LT 2008 Award Winner.” i hhope you are also putting on your CV

  18. I must be the only one that doesn’t see the need for chiefs. Exactly what do they do, they just seem like rural ornaments that are used as pawns during elections. the real king is the president and his ministers, gone are the days when people were villagers and looked to chiefs as leaders. They serve no purpose but to be societies decoration. real kings like Sundiata keita or queen Nzinga forged to make a mark through good leadership and following. The only people that follow these chiefs are either villagers or people stuck in a nostalgic period

  19. #45 Ala bututu to keep xmas tree up to now. Its supposed to be removed a day or two after Boxing day, thats if you know what it is. Diaspora diaspora kanshi tapali efyo mwaishiba 😮

  20. The Auditor General in Misisi looks like a lozi lady during Kuomboka Ceremony fantastic attire from Barose land.

  21. Iwe Maureen or gay man you are just mind your own bussiness. It depends how you keep your traditions in your house. I know the council has and many homes and working places put down their christms trees and lights last weekend. But to be honest with you many in my street who are British are putting down the christmas trees this week or weekend. By the way I don’t like your name. I wouldn’t want go on and on and I would care less if LT banned me.

  22. 47. your flag Kankuluwele, ni |-) …. And you shall know thr truth and the truth shall set you free is what the Holy Scriptures record. “LT 2008 Award Winner, ni Zii … |-), it signifies that I am not an average blogger on LT, hhe hhe hhe hhe. Kala mpokedde alakuyasa mamvwa.

Howz about a laptop in the Chief Chitimukulu’s office? The phones (land and cell, on the picture) have made a lot of sense.

  23. Looking at these pictures one wouldn’t still have an idea of how Kasama, and the people looks like. I don’t if am the only one who it an opportunity to see the physical outlook of Kasama and residents.

  24. 58. your flag Sarah Jones, I understand that my chief is Chief Mapanza. I must confess that I have never seen him for I have never been to ku-Mapanza in my whole life. May it is time to arrange a rendez-vous with him or her, so that I can get to know him/her. Unfortunately, I have not even been to my village – probably because ba-taata died when I was only 8 years old. Oh, I have never seen my mother’s Chief Mo(o)nze too although I have been to my mother’s village for like 6 hours – in about 1992. Grazie (thank you in English) for asking.

  25. 62. Is Chief Mapanza in Choma. I don’t know if Chief Moonze is still active or has grown old, do you know. Whats that ceremony which Tongas have around July or August or is it around April/May. We need to keep our tradition ceremonies alive. Do you agree.

  26. #63 Sarah Jones, I agree to some extent for it is good for tourism while I am a conservative SDA Christian who is very concerned about certain traditional practices. On Chief Mapanza, yes he/she is in Cho(o)ma, in a place known as Mapanza which includes my father’s village. Chief Mo(o)nze is still active. In fact, it appears he/she is the most respected in the Southern Province. As for the ceremony, I am not sure when it is conducted although it is called Lwi(i)ndi Ceremony always done in Monze rural. There is also a Toka-Leya people ceremony under Chief Mukuni which I don’t recall by name.

  27. Sarah Jones Are you the one or someone is impersonating you? please no offense I have asked coz I have never seen you fighting with anyone here, now am worried that you want a fight with maureen.

  28. Matworld

Just posted on the other side. Was working out of town today. Just got back and got some sad news from back home. Lost my sister in law. [-(

  29. Matworld.
Sorry. Sometimes I flip because maybe I had a bad day at work.
And Maureen is just another perfect, know it all person to lash out to. To be honest the dude is a coward.
    Sorry Matworld.

  30. I don’t get why every trip around the country by the president is made such a big deal of. In developed nations, it is a duty and obligation for the head of state to make routine visits all over the country. And when he returns, he doesn’t have to be greeted by the who’s who in politics and dancing welcoming committees. Grow up Zambia. When Rupiah is making trips that actually matter, then we can talk. It’s time for a new leadership and a new mind. The youth will rise and I’m on the way. Anyway, thanks for the pics LT.

  31. this is LPM’s initiative. we know. RB the opportunitist.what is the purpose of visiting the Chief. this is not a traditional trip. it is a presidential trip. Banda needs to meet the Govt Officials inspect the work and progress. visiting the chief is not important. twhat progress is this.

  32. the chief after demanded talk time i do not think he was even interested in the man apart from benefits. see how the wife is gazing knowing ati twadyamo twalyamo

  33. #27 Ba Maureen, ku Northen christmas ni everyday! Trees are assets. Why should the King Chiti(tree)mukulu throw away a tree, after all its not a “chitemene” season? We throw Christmas trees mu July when we take action of mass cutting of any tree we see. Leave alone!! :-t

  34. When did Bemba traditional dress start looking like that of South Africa? ….. I almost thought it was Cheif Senzangakona…..just woundering 😕

  35. ….oh! even a Christmass tree is still there in january not to mention the 2000 calender still hanging at the back ….but this is mungwi mungwi zoona! :-j:-j We wont say much kanabeesa! ^:)^ ^:)^ ^:)^

  36. Morning All!!! :)>-

Kwena, did the chief have to invite the president ku so called office? Why not the palace?
But Ba madam bena, iyo, ba chimwela! Very proud of the husband Ka?
manje ma tray pa table!! Monga niku UTH!!

  37. Reputable bloggers,
If you have any donations or better office equipment just donate to the chief. I think he will appreciate your gesture.
Laughing and rebuking him is not respectful at all. :)>-

  38. 27& 36 “Christmas Tree.” For Social and business houses Christmas ends on 26th december and all trees and decorations are removed, but actually the Christmas season is only ending officially today/saturday, so nothing wrong as per Christian tradition to still keep the tree to that day the picture was taken.

  39. #11 You cannot compare a chief to a president. The president was elected by the people. In some cases the president is not even popular and very few people even vote for him. The minute a baby is born in the royal family, that child is a prince or princess and the throne is his/hers.

The president is supposed to kneel and even UKUKUNKULA

  40. The entire Chief Chitimukulu of the bemba kneeling for a president? It was unheard of some years ago. Lets not give politically appointed people these powers please.

  41. Imwe, Mrs Chitimukulu ali che. Yashani iyo. Infact, the fact that i’m a Ngoni, makes her my aunty. So lay off. talk about something else!
    Way to go aunty!! :)>-

  42. Talking of pictures, the one thing that I noticed on my visit to Zambia in December was that Business still haven’t replaced Mwanawasa’s portraits with Banda’s. Whats up with that??? :-w

  43. That Job could have been done by the justice minister and works and supply minister. They are problems on the copperbelt on the mines and NyamaSoya chooses to go to Northen Province to tour tourism sites, a small bridge and other irrrelevant places for now for a head of state. The chipata small scale farmers should have gone ahead to slash his maizefield in chipata to teach him a lesson. He has misplaced priorities.

  44. Ruphia ni guyeee eh!Did you see wat he was wearing and the way he greeted that chief, chalichejela even if he dozes during meetings.

  45. RB was supposed to kneel down before the King. not va half kneeling, pa chizungu.
these politicians of ours cant uphold tradition. nowander ka Chiluba and Vera broke the lozi tradition by getting on the Nalikwanda. The Nalikwanda was never boarded by any other than the King. [-x

  46. This man will spend the remainder of the presidential term campaigning while Zambians are starving. God help Zambia [-o<[-o<[-o<[-o<

  47. He has visited imfumu yamano, let him go now and visit imfumu muwelewele mpezeni and let him do me this favour, let him remain there and i will ask Sata to go to the state house!

  48. imfumu ni mfumu… but i was amazed when he told mulongoti kumbali saying “baiche mulenjita ati ‘chief mac makulu, ndiwa reggae’ “

  49. If Mr Rupiah Banda wants to show that his tenure of office will be any better than his predecessors, let him visit Livingstone, “BY ROAD”. Let him feel the agony that motorists have to endure to travel the 70Km between Zimba and Livistone. Let him also see what progress the lousy Chinese contractor is achieved, if any. Mr President, you will never appreciate the state of the country if you always travel by air, come down to earth and see the real Zambia.
