A Taxi driver in Kitwe was attacked and his vehicle snatched by armed robbers dressed in police attire.
The armed robbers beat the taxi driver and got away with K4, 000.
Copperbelt deputy police commissioner Sam Chewe confirmed the robbery which took place in the early hours of the morning in Chimwemwe Township.Mr Chewe said the taxi driver was attacked around 01:00 hours by four armed men who snatched his vehicle, a Toyota Spacio registration number ACR 2848 and the K4, 000 which was in the car.He said the vehicle was however recovered later after it was abandoned within Chimwemwe.
These are Sata’s PF cadres that were given jobs as police officers without training. PF are a government of criminals.
What the hell was a taxi driver doing with 4Pin? At 01 in the MORNING? What kind of cashing does he make and to whom at that hour. I guy robbed his self. I know them Chimwemwe guys. Kukosa, mukati na kunse.
In zambia the law stipulates that a taxi hours are from 06:00hrs to20:00hrs.What was he doing at that hour,I bet he is just a pirater.Though I condemn the crime on the driver but both the driver and the thugs broke the law its time RTSA and ZP woke up.
Those chaps in the picture don’t appear to be genuine police officers to me. Could these be the militia? Just look at the improper dressing (cap). Are policemen allowed to wear their hats the other way round as if they are rappers?
@ Questionner: Good observations. It shows that Zambia has lost the whole corporate culture. Police, Army used to be the cleanest Civil servants you would ever see. Wonder if I would stop for such cops coz never know if they are thieves or genuine. Sad to see that no senior leader / PS would bring back morals. This is why they are not shy to drink and beg in uniforms. We have Gone backward.

..this seem to be a cooked up story by the taxi driver….there was no such incident…if he really had the 4000, he just had to find a reason to keep it instead of offloading it to the owner of the taxi…
…with the large number of taxis on the market, its difficult to make 4000 in a month…
