Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Zambia Chapter has challenged Chiefs and Traditional Affairs Minister Nkandu Luo to clearly state which media institutions are promoting anarchy in the country.

Professor Luo during the commemoration of International Museum Day over the weekend accused the media of fueling messages that are promoting anarchy in the country.

But MISA Zambia Chapter Chairperson Hellen Mwale has told QFM News in a telephone interview that Professor Luo should be specific as to which media houses are promoting anarchy in the country.

Ms. Mwale says government should appreciate the work of journalists in the country because they are trying to be professional and objective in their reporting.

She says if Professor Luo is referring to online media, she should be mindful that social media is here to stay in Zambia.

Ms. Mwale says it is Ministers like Professor Luo who are making the work of journalists very difficult because they are failing to give journalists adequate information for their stories.

  1. THE ZAMBIAN WATCHDOG WHO ELSE. they cause anarchy because they report the truth. anarchy is the state of the nation.

    • BA MISA ARE YOU BLIND OR DEAF. INCITING CITIZENS TO REBEL AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT IS ALLOVER THE PLACE IN MOST MEDIAE. MOST LIKELY SOME OF THE OPPOSITION WITH MONEY DRILLING HOLES IN THEIR POCKETS SPONSOR SOME OF THE MEDIAE. DON’T PRETEND NOT TO KNOW THIS. MAYBE YOU DON’T READ NEWSPAPERS OR LISTEN AND WATCH FROM RADIO AND TELLY RESPECTIVELY. OTHERWISE DON’T LOOK AT US CITIZENS AS FUULS WHEN IT’S YOU WHO ARE FUULS.

    • I care less about what watch dog reports except they embellish their stories by inserting opinions in the stories and shove that down the throats of their gullible readers.

Try expressing any opinion that is against their story or their opposition sponsors, it will never be posted.

Here on LT readers exercise their inviolable rights by expressing their thoughts and opinions for or against govt and for or against the opposition freely.

      Keep it up LT

    • @YAMBA:

THEY ARE NOT ATTACKING MADAM MWALE AS AN INDIVIDUAL BUT MISA AS AN INSTITUTION WHICH MUST HAVE BEEN THE FIRST TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE DISTASTEFUL REPORTING MY SOME GOOD FOR NOTHING MEDIA INSTITUTIONS WHO MUST CONSIDER THEMSELVES VERY LUCK INDEED THAT THE GOVERNMENT HAS NOT ACTED ON THEM DESPITE WHAT THEY WRITE. IF MISA ZAMBIA (I GUESS THEY ARE SOMEWHERE ELSE AS WELL) DOES NOT READ ALL WHAT IS WRITTEN AND PUBLISHED BY ANYONE (WHICH THEY MUST DO) THEN THEY CAN BLINDLY CHALLENGE AS THEY HAVE DONE AND CONGRATULATIONS TO MISA ZAMBIA.

IN THE WESTERN WORLD, WHERE MOST OF THE CURRENT NONSENSE HAS COME FROM, THEY WOULD SUBJECT ANY COMMENT TO EDITORIAL APPROVAL BEFORE IT IS POSTED ON LINE OR PUBLISHED. WHY NOT HERE MISA ZAMBIA PLEASE? OPEN YOUR EYES AND YOUR JOB PLEASE! GO AND…

  2. Just about every section of the media is partaking; Prof Luo will be at pains to point out any. Some are promoting anarchy by sloppy reporting (half-truths, stubs and speculation), while others yet are reporting by exaggeration (things that never happened but by extrapolation are presumed so)… One of the reasons for this of course is that parties largely have no agenda and simply oscillate from the left to the right whenever and wherever they deem fit.

    • We have also allowed DJ’s on radio stations to be giving opinions on matters they are not competent about. Due to freedom of speech, people can discus anything but radio stations should seek expert opinion in the final analysis instead of making people swallow their assumptions which are in most cases biased. DJ’s opinions should be restricted to who sung this and that song!

    • @KAL:

OR MAYBE PAPERS HAVE TO SELL AND ONLINE SOCIAL NET-WORKS HAVE TO COMPETE FOR SENSATIONALISM? FREEDOM OF SPEECH CAN BE A SOCIETY DESTRUCTION TOOL IF NOT WELL PRACTICED. THE YOUNG GENERATION AND FUTURE LEADERS MAY BE BELIEVING IN WHAT IS SAID AND WRITTEN. YOU WRITE AN INSULT AND A CHILD GOES TO TELL THE PARENT THE SAME INSULT BECAUSE, TO THEM WHAT IS FREELY WRITTEN CAN FREELY BE SAID – TRUE ZWD?

  4. We were of the impression that Nkandu Luo was one of the few thinking brains in PF, but its strange how she has done about turn and “sings for her dinner” like the rest of the frightened clowns. The metarmophosis has happened at lightening speed, all for pieces of silver . You would think the professor would know not to speak empty and retain her soul!

  5. It’s embarrassing for Lou whininng about media instead of working, you are trying to tell the whole world you don’t like freedom of speech, real working governments don’t worry about media, it’s there to stay, some of the media is too powerful for you like Facebook, Twitter

  6. Helen Mwale, love you for standing up to this reptilian looking creature. When the media reported that you – Nkandu Luo – and Micheal Sata want to unseat Solala as Chitimukulu to be replaced by your bother you call that promoting anarchy. What has happened to those revelations now? Who have you anointed as Chitimukulu.
