Former Justice Minister Sebastian Zulu has advised the ruling PF to adopt late President Michael Sata’s widow, Christine as the party’s presidential candidate in the upcoming presidential by election.

Mr Zulu who served as the first Justice Minister in the PF administration observed that Dr Kaseba would make a good republican President.He said the PF leadership should view Dr Kaseba as a comprise candidate who will help unite the party.

In an interview in Lusaka, Mr Zulu said Dr Kaseba understands fully the vision of her late husband for Zambia and can help execute it.He noted that the divisions in the PF are too deep and only Dr Kaseba can help bridge the differences.

“There is a big problem in the PF. Everybody wants to succeed, I have my own views on who should succeed because they can’t agree on one candidate,” Mr Zulu said.
He added, “I don’t see the PF leaders agreeing. So why not settle on the First Lady, let her finish the two years. I would rather her. Let’s have a lady President, a woman President, Dr Kaseba is internationally known, she is a medical doctor and she was actually working before going to State House.”

What we need is a Young Zambian who can move this country forward. Zambia is a democratic country not a monarchy so, she has done her part and let her mourn the husband.

She was more interested in going to receive certificates abroad than the ewll being of Zambians.When Zambians were being subjected to PF violence she never spoke out for the vulnerable woman and children caught in the cross fire.NO NO keep her away from the reigns of power.

    • I have some reservations over Madam Kaseba sata, leave her alone to mourn the late husband. I also have doubts about HH becoming president coz he is inexperienced and childish in dealing with national issues. HH will lose for the fourth time. It pains but that’s the truth baba.

    • A-zulu begging for a job in disguise. Dr Kaseba was the architect of the rampant lies surrounding Sata ‘s long illness and his subsequent death.

      It would be utter stupidity to even contemplate that Dr Kaseba can stop PF’s failed project of lies with impunity, fake promises and total disregard of the law. She demanded her fake unconstitutional office be given K1.5 billion kwacha, the money which could have been used to improve conditions in our hospitals.

      Any one or anything PF stinks of massive corruption and tribalism.

      If you want all Dr Kaseba’s relatives to be given top jobs in Zambian government then Dr Kaseba is your choice.

      PF is a failed project. All it knew was construction of unfinished poorly funded projects because it benefited from kick backs.

      Dr Kaseba ‘s constitutional office gobbled over K1.5 billion each of the three years. How did she spend that money? For what and on what? Seriously heads should roll in the next government for RDA and Kaseba’s office to account for huge billions stolen and misused from the tax payer.

You were disgraced once, you will surely be disgraced again. Just keep quiet and use whatever you stole, pardon me EARNED to settle on a farm and start keeping chickens, maybe organic farming on the side. His did his part, let another one also rule. Zambia is not a kingdom, people are free to vote who they want, even in PF. I totally agree with Mr Zulu, Dr Kaseba is the only person you can unite the ruling party as she can command more respect than any of the other names we are hearing being proposed for presidency. I just do not know how well is can recover from the lose of her husband to start campaigning so soon.

      You seem to be suggesting that Doctor Kaseba would just have it plain sailing and become president. If I were her, I would simply reject your suggestion and move on with my life as a physician. It would save her from the brutal and expository campaign brewing in the horizons and the questions we Zambians would subject her to. Please spare Doctor Kaseba and let her just go back to the hospital where I hear she is good.
      This time remember, PF will not have the luxury of relying on that inanity of a slogan, “Donchi kubeba”!

  10. What criteria did this muppet use to arrival at such a conclusion? I thought Sata’s vision was a collective vision of the PF as a party. Whose interest will Dr Kaseba be serving, Sata’s or PF as a party? The bootlickers of Sata, the late, have gone too far!!! Please remember that Zambia is a country and not Sata’s estate.

    • This is tribal PF believing they have the birth right to rule. What they don’t understad is that even though 60-70 percent of Zambians speak Bemba or Nyanja sometimes both, only 30-35 pct are actually Bemba or Luapula Bemba. And even in that 30-35 Bemba at least 10 pct are not tribal or are mixed. HH can win a free and fair election with 20 pct hard core Bemba. The rest of us are happy with him and don’t call me Tonga bcs I am not a Tonga. The only way PFcan win is by rigging .

  11. Guys! Let us use these blogs to campaign off the old folks. We need young leaders in government. How can some of our old leaders plan for the next 30 years when they only have maybe less than 5 or 10 years to live? Lets participate in the running of our country.

    I have worked with old folks in Zambia, they are more than 30 years backward in terms of technology. How can we trust such leaders to plan for our country for the next 30 years? We the youth need to participate in politics, Abash retrogressive thinking from Sebastian Zulu! What a joke!

  23. The problem with Zambians is that when someone suggests something, they are subjected to insults instead of giving reasons as to why you reject such a person. Most negative comments against from morons from UPND or MMD knows only insults instead of putting IP their valid reasons as to why Dr Kaseba cannot be president. If you don’t know your grand parents in your villages can stand as presidents if they so wish. Most these bloggers are economic refugees who have lost touch of what is going on in Zambia. They don’t know what Sata has achieved in three years. My friend from UK visited Zambia after 5 years and he couldn’t believe what Sata did. The only thing he did was to say sorry to Sata. You economic refugees come and see what Sata did you dull morons.

It is due to frustration and nothing to contribute intellectually. It is a pity on these blogs we do not have many contributors residing in Zambia to shed more light on the happenings.     • Sometimes I think that people should pass an intellectual test before they are allowed to vote. The test could be translated to all vernacular languages to avoid any misunderstanding. Maybe even use parables involving kalulu and tortoise – with pictures.

  32. For me GIVEN LUBINDA, should be the rightful heir to the P.F, Presidency.
    The fact he was a victim of EVIL Kabimba’s scheming’s, surely shows hes a proper leader with Good qualities, hence the Cartel chose to get him out of the way quickly.
    He was also reconciled with Sata & the Party, well before Sata departed.

  34. Zulu’s suggestion is sensible. All the UPND cadres posting negative remarks know deep down that HH would have a very steep mountain to climb if Kaseba was pitched against him.

    There are several examples in the world where this trick has worked. We’ll wait and see whether PF is smart enough to play their cards right.

Dr kaseba would make a good president,many would easier accept her,and when voted in pliz first sort out local government service commission which has failed to bring reasonable solutions to council most of the council workers are frustrated hence affecting service delivery . The commission has failed to promote in accordance with what councils recommended but instead employed on the same positions people with the same qualifications or less and with no experience leaving qualified and experienced council employers who suffered with councils when council were not considered good working places .

  37. This is a charming offence. Much needed to cheer Christine up, for that Zulu is commended for his gallant old world charm!

    However as a serious proposal it is a disaster. Christine has neither the acumen for a presidential role nor the emotional well being required in that role at this moment.

    If PF want to honour her, they can give her an honorary role in the Ministry of Health. A personal secretary role or such where her medical expertise can help shape our health policies.

    Much needed now is a Spa holiday in Italy or somewhere suitable so she can re-group. PF can you see to her mental health please and not engage her in mediocrity at this time. Can some sharp lawyer help her with the inheritance issues please? I trust Sata to have been dutiful to her by Will.

    • She could also renew and resume practice of the hippocratic oath she took as a doctor. It contains the line “I will keep them from harm and injustice “.

HH’s name has been on the ballot paper several times and its high time we gave him a shot to govern.Pf should be shelved for now to give them time to reorganise and lick their wounds.Their style of running state affairs has been pathetic in the last 3yrs….it has been a comedy of errors after errors such that our status as a nation has dipped during their watch…not again please…when a project fails you go back to the drawing board….

It’s a shame that after 50 years we are still looking for capable leaders to lead our country. I respect Madam Kaseba for her medical profession, period. She would never make a President. Same goaes for likes of Edgar Lungu, Miles Sampa & the likes. Let’s move on from PF, the party that we have complained about being a mistake, let’s change, utilise God given opportunity.

  43. @ Wnzelu, we don’t hate HH, but he doesn’t stand a chance. No matter how much you campaign for him, PF will win. This is a fact. And it will be a landslide victory. Reasons: PF will win atleast 20 or 30% in NW, PF will win on the CB with atleast 90%, Northern 95%, Luapula 95%, Lusaka atleast 85%, Eastern with Edgar Lungu atleast 60%, Chongwe area/Luangwa 90%, Central 80%, Muchinga 95%. So where does HH stands? Take it or leave it Mr Wnzelu.

      1. Do ask the Almighty (whoever you perceive him to be) that you may be given wisdom to select the right candidate
      2. do your homework and examine each candidate closely including education, experience, personal conduct, affiliations etc
      3. Ask that every Zambian be given the freedom and protection to make their (wise) choice in peace

      That’s all.

Sata used to say HH has never been a councilor before and should not aspire for presidency, do you then mean Dr Kaseba has been a councilor before.

  55. Those of you calling others ‘economic refugees’ are so ignorant to say the least. This is a global world. People can chose to be where they want and sell whatever they have. And those not in the country have every right to crticise where they deem fit. People do travel to and from Zambia – and even if they don’t, many know what is going on – probably better than some on the ‘ground’ who are perpetually deluded by superficial ‘development’. So don’t patronise people – react to their arguments constructively. Is there a law that a citizen can pnly offer criticism when they are in the country? In fact, being exposed to other systems broadens one’s perception of matters – because you compare, assess and suggest. All countries have issues, its a question of degree and deciding best…

    Kaseba is known as a medical student who encroached on Sata’s family to reap off Sata’s wealth. The PF Presidency is NOT a Chiefdom that could revolve with the family blood line. PF is an institution subject to democratic norms.

    We therefore plead with our Priests, Bishops and traditional Sangomas to cast this “Zulu-Ghost” back to its grave in order to restore sanity to the Zambian people.
