Time has come for HH to rule Zambia -Maureen Mwanawasa

Former First Lady Dr Maureen Mwanawasa declared that time had come for Mr. Hichilema to rule Zambia.

“I have been away from politics for six years but now I feel time has come to get involved in order to deliver a new Zambia with new and fresh leadership. The Office of President is very demanding and we need a younger President and that President is HH,” Dr Mwanawasa said amid cheers from the crowd.

Dr Mwanawasa, “You will see very little of me over the next few weeks because time for real work begins now. I will go in the field and ensure that HH and the UPND form government.”

And Vernon Mwaanga said it is unacceptable for the PF to ask Zambians to reelect them when they have failed to deliver a new constitution.

He said Zambians should rally behind Hakainde Hichilema in order to bring an end to old leadership.

At the same function, UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema declared that time has come for the UPND to liberate Zambia from its current economic and social hardships.

Mr. Hichilema said God has allowed the current situation in Zambia in order to pave way for fresh leadership which will fix Zambia’s problems.

The UPND leader was speaking in Lusaka when the UPND officially launched its campaigns for the 2015 presidential by election.

Mr. Hichilema said the UPND pledges to deliver a better Zambia once elected into office.

Mr. Hichilema said the UPND will recognize the new Chitimukulu by February 5th 2015 and deliver a new constitution by 2016.

He said the UPND will improve education and health standards and help lower the cost of living.

Mr. Hichilema pledged to reduce the cost of farming inputs such as fertilizer and seed.

“We will govern Zambia better. Our government will be efficient. We will run a professional civil service and our government will be inclusive. Any Zambia will be given a chance to contribute to a better Zambia in the UPND government,” Mr. Hichilema told his cheering supporters.

He added, “The chaos and mediocrity that has characterized the running of government in the last few weeks under the PF is unacceptable. Zambia deserves better and the UPND is offering Zambians a chance to transform this country by voting us in the office.”

The UPND leader pledged to run a business friendly administration that will promote foreign direct investment without neglecting small businesses.

    • By the way who are the Zambians who own those shares in CEC, how did they acquire them, were they offered shares in order to sell the company on discount? Same goes for all the state owned companies and assets that have Zambians as minority share holders. Just recently Yaluma announced that some Zambians had gone into PPP deals with Chinese and British companies exploring for oil and gas which is very serious because the general public are entitled to those shares as well. Zambia is a corrupt country and we need Scott to carry out a clean sweep. Get rid of all the bad eggs and reboot system. That’s what’s happening in PF at the moment (the most corrupt are running scared) RDA Richie Rich Nsanda is a good example (watch this space)

  5. That is Zambia’s incoming president as attested Mrs. Mwanawasa. The late Mwanawasa was a one of Zambia best presidents. He stood for what was right; hence his resignation from the Chiluba government something that very few people in Zambia can do, especially holding a position such as vice-president. HH when you become president please keep the promises just like the late Mwanawasa stood by what was right even when it meant losing friends. We only have one and so far this country has been severely damaged economically and socially. The ordinary person today in Zambia is employed by foreigners when we should be the ones employing foreigners, we should be the ones enjoying our country’s resources. All in all, we should be the ones developing Zambia. I have confidence you will do that

In any case she brings some fresh air to the campaigns characterised by useless incompetent men who cant make simple decisions. I hope HH has the courage to appoint her has VP should he win. In as much as I have my doubts about UPND and HH..they appear to be the only political party that is very organised. These elections are theirs for the taking
