Republican President Edgar Lungu has said that he will not abuse his office to fix people.

And the Head of State has warned PF members not to undermine his authority and incite him to remove certain people from office because of their political affiliations.

President Lungu says his duty is to protect Zambians without favor or fear despite the president Lungu political affiliations of Zambians.

President Lungu says he will not interfere in cases that are before the courts of law saying the law should take its course.

The President’s comments come in the wake of some tabloid newspapers that have insinuated that President Lungu is behind the efforts to have Director of Public Prosecution, Mutembo Nchito arrested and prosecuted.

He says if a petition is brought before his attention and the case is before court, he cannot do anything because his hands are tied.

Mr Lungu urged the Zambia Police to effectively protect and defend the Zambian people.

President Lungu said there was need to ensure that the people of Zambia continue to enjoy their constitutional rights.

He said it was important for the Police Service to perform its duties professionally as required by law.

President Lungu said he will do his best to protect all Zambians and noted that in doing so, he will also ensure that courts work independently.

He said he will always allow the courts to work independently so that they may perform their duties diligently.

And President Lungu has warned PF members not to undermine his powers by influencing him to deal with certain individuals saying he is in office to serve the interests of Zambians and not individuals.

He says he does not care whether he will be adopted in 2016 or not, stating that he has put the people of Zambia first in the execution of his duties.

President Lungu says PF members who are not happy with certain individuals in office should stop bickering and meet him head on saying he is protecting the interests of Zambia.

President Lungu said this at State House this morning when he sworn-in Malcolm Mulenga as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Anderson Namachila as Luapula Province Police Commissioner, Auxensio Daka as Muchinga Province Police Commissioner and Stanslous Chewe as Northern Province Police Commissioner.

Others are Ambassador Shiela Siwela as Senior Private Secretary in the office of the Vice President and Doreen Mwaba as Chief Policy Analyst at State House.

He urged the appointees to thrive in bringing justice and protecting all Zambians and property.

He said the newly appointed officers should ensure that they thoroughly investigate cases and ensure that every Zambian enjoys constitutional rights.

    • You mean you are still on HH’s payroll? You must be a Ghost Worker, please save money for 2016, your boss will need every ngwee

    • ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS. LUNGU IS A BIG LIAR. LUNGU HAS ALWAYS BEEN VINDICTIVE.. LUNGU IS FULL OF FLATTERY, BUT HIS ACTIONS ON HIS OPPONENTS ARE TERRIBLE. IF LUNGU IS NOT VINDICTIVE AND BAD, WHY IS GUY SCOT NOT A VICE-PRESIDENT, OR A MINISTER? DON’T BE CHEATED, LUNGU IS BAD.

    • Our children’s future is being put at risk with this appetite for loans. What is the $1billion for, when you cannot even account for the first one. How do you pay a loan using a loan, without plans on how to recapitalize the economy? seriously….

    • the chap used the courts to steal the PF presidency and today he wants to say he will allow the courts to work independently. this waggish.

    • KWACHA TO HIT OVER K50 PER $ DOLLAR BY 2016.

The serious issue we should be debating is KWACHA’s free fall against the $Dollar.

At the rate the kwacha is falling, it will surely hit well over K50 per dollar by 2016 due to PF ‘s inability to deal with the TRADE DEFICIT and to implement sensible monetary policies.

PF has no clue of how to stop the kwacha falling dismally because its composed of thugs who do Not understand how to deal with endogenous causes such as TRADE DEFICIT and MONETARY POLICIES, but simply turn a blind eye to enrich them selves first at the expense of the poor common man. Thats why they all deserve the label thug.

Now PF is sending another clueless delegation to the US to negotiate another BOND LOAN to use to service the $1.75 billion bond it took out last…

    • Truth we cannot afford to have Guy Scott as vice ever again. He and Sata brought what Mwanawasa had left almost to crumbling. Let Lungu work and make things work, as president Nawakwi gets ready to ascend to power.

    • Friends bear with me. I had posted this on ZWD.
“Let me hope ZWD shows my comments. Kariba dam is jointly owned. What happens if it is not repaired and water gushes out to the valley and land, animals and humans are submerged? Whether one likes it or not, Zambia has to protect is citizens, resources and ensure continuous generation of electricity. There are ways of recovering the money through buying off power from Zimbabwe at concessional price and recovering loan share over time. Since I do not trust ZWD to show my comments, I am going to put the same comments on Zambia Reports and Lusaka Times as well.
Is ZWD propagating ‘Self destruction’ or annihilation of inhabitants of southern and central provinces? Is Mutati really a learned person? Is he a patriotic Zambian?”

    • iye ba overseer bambwa(watchdog) mulomfwisha umuselu.Edigar is on course bitterness tayakatwale freemansonary ku state house.HH missed his golden chance(takatekepo zambia).

    • Today I witnessed an incidence that opened my eyes on why people keep voting a certain way.

A ‘irate’ client stormed a shop at Westgate and threatened the owner that unless he got concessions following a dispute that he would bring cadres to close the shop!! Right there along Freedom Way in broad daylight.

The power of cadres. The jutzpah to demand benefits. The access to economic power and levers.

That is what the cadres of all hues including the markets will hack for to protect!!

Its the Munkombwe politics of the belly syndrome.

    • I am not part of those Zambians ..*****. U re not my spokesperson..and I refuse to be part of those Zambians..it is my democratic right…my man is HH

    • The kwacha has finally settled for K1 to $7.03. Do cadres have their own windows for buying the dollar? Work is to stabilize the kwacha and not politicking

    • I doubt if is the president of all Zambian, he has said anything about a poor woman who was badly beaten by his thugs . Action speaks louder than words.

  1. We are kicking you out in 2016 because of R.B and doing away with the vision of Mr Sata(MHSRIP).

On top of that, you have allowed abuse of authority by some Ministers like Christopher Yaluma who are firing people with no reasons or cause.

  2. Comments out of tune. You cant convince me with this habit of comments. You wont win Hanks Hanuku any votes by such rubbish.

    • Why do you want people who care about the country be turned into praise singers of someone who is definitely taking the country into economic destruction? We are all Zambians and we are all going to be negatively affected with this economic downturn sooner than later. That’s what I see in all these comments that you don’t like-nothing personal. Its a pity that some of you chose to be blind to the truth deliberately.

  3. Good Mr President. Let the courts make judgements, not your office.
Mr President your right is to pardon the arrested,if you so wish.

I thank God for allowing you to rule our blessed Zambia.

  4. These are words of wisdom from Chagwa as long as he means them. At least I can see he is being very careful with the word. There is nothing as nice as peace whether you are a president or just a beggar on the street. Kudos to EL and please maintain preaching peace and you will even win my vote if I will cast one in 2016. Please EL note that I personally will closely monitor your level of wisdom and that will be my determining factor for giving you a vote. This goes for other presidential aspirants such as HH. I personally will not tolerate any level of careless talk and action for selfish motives. We have Zambia to take care of. The Future of our children lies in our hands. Presidency of the nation requires great wisdom and wisdom mainly comes from God.

  5. EASIER SAID THAN DONE. WE HAVE ALREADY HEARD THAT YOU SENT A MR FUBE TO MR NCHIMA TO TELL HIS BROTHER TO RESIGN OR FACE CONSEQUENCES AND BRUISES. AND THIS MR FUBE HAS BEEN RANTING INCOHERENTLY IN THE DAILY NATION TO PROTECT YOU. SO MR PRESIDENT DO NOT MAKE STATEMENTS WHICH YOU ARE ALREADY UNDOING. YOUR ASSOCIATION WITH RB IS A VERY RISKY VENTURE.

    • So you still read the Post Newspaper lies? Check other media, you will have a balanced view of things. For the first since its formation, the Post is on the run!!!

    • Inde bwana. Hakaivotela Heka is a bitter soul and so it shall be for the rest of his life in opposition.
During the January campaigns, this Satanist wanted to deceive people that he is Christian and belongs to some congregation, have ever seen or heard of him being in church after his 4th defeat?

The Masanist shall forever remain a masonist, period!

  6. The man really doesn’t care whether he is adopted in 2016 or not, after all he has already bagged some deals with some of the very rich dictators in Africa, black diamonds from Angola and DRC are already in his bag so why should he worry. Whether the kwacha falls like an eagle dropping from the sky, it does not affect him. He has got his hands on the cake. How naive for him to say that he is doing things in the interest of Zambian people when he is able to borrow money for another country. A high level delegation going to borrow money to service other debts. What plans does he have to aliviate poverty in the country? He is behaving like a headless chicken because he doesn’t know what to do. A dunderhead indeed.

  7. Dr Kaseba should stand as PF candidate in 2016..she is more mature and also think Zambians should vote for a female president come 2016…I have no doubt women can perform far much better than the “He Goats”

  8. Just say you don,t have the bozzy to start a fight with the cartel , Coward. Or the kwacha has taken à random walk whilst you,ve been swearing in your freinds.

  9. Iwe Chakolwa cage your cadres. Zambians are suffering at public places like markets and bus stations. We are not interested in hopeless promises. If you were a honest and straight forward person you would have resigned the two posts you were holding before elections since you were a candidate. You held on to abuse the powers of that office. To hell with your lies. I say again cage your stupid violent cadres.

  10. Thank you Your Excellency for protecting the voiceless. Innocent people have been labelled NAREP, UPND, MMD, UNIP etc etc by your cadres including those working in your office (Presidential aides). They have even threatened to have civil servants dismissed on unfounded and malicious allegations that they belong to the opposition. Civil servants will only feel safe if such people are dismissed from the privilege of being your aides because working for you has gotten to ther heads and behave and boast that they act on your behalf. They exhibit an exaggerated sense of self importance as if they are the first ones to work for the Presidency, they have been others before them the list is long they should learn from George Chellah. Please Your Excellency remove such officers

  11. Pliz somebody educate me…When was Kakoma Kanganja recently sworn in as Deputy IG fired for Malcom Mutale Mulenga to replace him?

  12. After all, the man has graduated from being a Kachasu drinker to a champagne drinker. His wife has graduated from being a market seller to First Lady and soon she will be polished like the black diamonds the husband is getting through the back door. All this is being done at the expense of poor Zambians. So he doesn’t care about anything.

    • Guys learn to be sober in your comments, this kind of hate will just drive you to an early grave. You are just hurting yourself for the simple reason that you hurting inside…odi nikamwe ko tu castle light six instead of wasting my time advising id1ots like voice of reason(?)

  13. He has set the right tone for governing.Yes, Edgar needs to be firm with those wanting to push him to do wrong things in the name of power. He has human weaknesses just like all of us, but he is a good natured person who should not trade his character due to the temporal whims of power. Power comes and power goes.

  14. 2016 I am sorry to say this, but Edith Nawakwi might just be the one taking second place. UPND had there best chance when the masses were not voting. When the presidential elections and constituency ones are upon us, everybody is out voting. It shall be a washout, UPND shall be UNIPed, watcg FDD rise.

  15. “President Lungu says he will not interfere in cases that are before the courts of law saying the law should take its course.”

Those are great words from a president. Time has come for the haters and PF thugs to stop bickering, as Zambians we are leaving all of you behind.

  16. Real heads of state never use the words ‘I don’t care’ because in their position they are expected to care whatever the circumstances. Only dictators wielding limitless powers don’t care.
Mr Lungu has finally admitted that he is under pressure from his PF on who he should/shouldn’t give a job. This is getting him more and more confused when he starts talking about his 2016 adoption.

  17. That is the tone of a president for all Zambians. Protect us, Your Excellency. We pray for you daily, that the God of our salvation in Christ Jesus, may guide you as you lead this nation.

  18. He is showing signs of a great leader.
Not putting self interest but that of the nation and its people.
What else is leadership for if it is not for that reason.
Zambian I salute you – you did not make a mistake.

  19. @inga iwe? Firstly, even though I am better where I am, I am crying for the masses of poor people who are suffering at the expense of the most useless president ever to rule Zambia. Secondly, you are the one who will die early because of your stupidities. At least Lungu has booked himself a grave at embassy park but you will die a nobody. Your Edgar Lungu is so dull that he has let old men like Banda to control him. He is being remotely controlled by other wicked men. The kwacha is in a free fall because of his association with Mugabe. Just wait and see what will happen a month from now.

    • Tell them, I see Zambia being worse than Zimbabwe because of the association formed by EL. Both are being sprung around certain fingers.

  20. Continue your blind support you shanty dwellers. We are talking about a free falling kwacha but you are busy attacking innocent HH and UPND.Are your attacks ön HH going to stop the free fall of the kwacha.Take time and think about your lives and your malnourished children. Be serious.

    • Please admit that HH is a free masonry. Stop abusing the President of the Republic of Zambia H.E EL is not like HH a great satanist from hell. He will never rule Zambia. He will continue wangling in this country as a destitute and messenger of his father satan and HIS demons.

  21. Come election day the internet bloggers are pitted against the masses with no inkling of how this service works and who are moved with simple joys in either illiteracy or filling of the belly, never on issues enjoyed by elitist bloggers.

    • @Fo.olManChu

Come Election day, those you disparagingly call illiterates will be casting their votes to elect whom they have ‘ignorantly chosen’….as is their democratic right. The same for the belly fillers.

The Vote is real Power not the voice of disdainful, pretentious, pseudo intellectual bloggers!

  22. We have a mighty fine set of Leaders.

His Excellency is an honest and well meaning Leader. Hon. Vice President Wina compliments the Office Of The President, very well.

At long last our Presidential Office has reverted to top Gravitas status…unlimited! We can all be proud of our gov’t irrespective of our differences.

  23. You guys in tribal UPND will die from BP!!!you still cant believe that your HH lost?ECL is Zambia’s 6th president as we all anticipated!!!come 2016,ECL will retain power and your tribal HH losing for record 5th time!!!!WITH A HIGH TURN OUT IN 6 PROVINCES WHERE PF IS VERY STRONG,HH WILL BE PLACED WHERE HE BELONGS I.E.19% OR 20%!!!HH LOST IT AND ALL THOSE FACTORS(confusion in PF,late payments for farmers, low turn out, heavy rainfall, little time to campaign,no use of Govnt machinery, etc)WHICH FAVOURED HIM BEFORE 20/01/2015 WONT BE THERE IN 2016!!!!SO MANY PF LOVERS REGRET FOR NOT VOTING AND ARE SO READY TO TEACH HH A BIG LESSON BY USING NEGA NEGA FORMULA IN FAVOUR OF PF!!!!ITS 100% GAME OVER FOR HH!!!ECL CANT LOSE POWER AFTER 18MONTHS OR SO- NEVER!!!

  24. No! No! please stop attacking UPND cadres. I’m not UPND and I once voted for Sata in 2011 against HH.

But really at the bottom of my heart there was no merit in Edgar Lungu’s election except voting him into power on partisan lines not on merit. Those opposed to my views I challenge them to list even four reason of what they saw in Edgar Lungu if not partisan. I’m yet to see how he will perform for me to be convinced.

Whether we attack UPND or not the situation in the country is bad. With the kwacha falling everyday. Any sensible person can not defend this and attack others because we are all feeling it.

In Zambia we are not serious with our lives and country. We are so petty and easily influenced by job seekers like those who surrounded Lungu without analysing issues.

  25. Chris-Ian-PF-UPND

This is the kind of partisanship I’m talking about. How can you get a loan on behalf of another country when their president who is nearing death can hold a birth day party worth $1 million.? Just on one person to spend that kind of money in a day on a birth day.

At least they should have made efforts even to contribute that $1 million towards this Kariba dam project.

    • Is Zimbabwe not contributing to the cost of repairing the Kariba Dam? Surely there must be some contribution in one form or another!

  26. PRESIDENT LUNGU’S STATEMENT IS VERY IMPRESSIVE.

THIS IS WHAT WE NEED IN A LEADER; THINKING FOR OTHERS AND NOT SELF OR INDIVIDUALS.

  27. IMWEE MWE BANTU
NANGU KWACHA IBE K1000 PER DOLLAR. EL AWINA MU 2016
    NANGU CONSTITUTION TAKULI EL AKAWINA
SO BA UPND OR UNPD WHATEVER YOU ARE CALLED, YOU ARE LOSERS. FINITO.
CHANGE HH AND REPLACE HIM WITH MULYOKELA MAY BE THE PARTY CAN HAVE A CHANCE
