  1. “the Vice-President urged the nationals in the diaspora to conduct themselves in an exemplary manner, wherever they are, to maintain the good image of the country in the international community.” smh, you lot are something, I can see why even God has difficulties helping you!

    • But when is Edgar lungu dying from his sickness?

Any one with reliable information please.

We are tired with PF Government.

    • First things first. Enable the Zambian environment to reduce brain drain and through the constitution make the diaspora citizens , citizens of theirown country and welcome home. Then only then will you see and experience wonders they will be able to perform in terms of repatriation of wealthy home. Simple; or is it that difficult for our leadership?

    • We are not doing it! Where is our Dual Citizenship? Technically, am not Zambian, I have a Canadian passport, you are losing all the educated and smart people to diaspora because of your greed and jealous.

    • Ba Wina, you are supposed to return home to run the country. Your boss is sick. You are wasting time in USA. Your US visit is not adding any value at all

    • What good image? “Continue to live side by side” when we have failed to do so in Zambia. Let us be realistic and not treat people like they don’t know what is going on in Zambia. The world knows of the violence and tribalism.

    • @Nubian, what did you do with the black Zambian passport? I know you are beautiful, but sometimes people who blatablata about dual citizenship annoys me.
I have 3 passports, Zambian, European and Latino… not even a single day I was asked by Zambian immigration.
      Citizenship kuipela we mwine!!

    • Henry Sakala, so called leader of Zambians in New York has simultaneously impregnated 3 women(1 Mexican and 2 Zambian) in New York and New Jersey and caused quite the kerfuffle. He should be stripped of that position to sort out his personal mess.

  2. Inonge you are part of the reason why we left Zambia. I am very sorry we cant help a corrupt government. When you leave office and there will be credible leadership like Miles Sampa or HH then will coming in full force to support government efforts

    • @Yugoslavia etc. Really, when did you leave Zambia? Its incredible to blame ECL and Inonge who were elected only 8 weeks ago when the economy was already sliding downwards due to 3 years of reckless borrowing by dictatorial MCS and his cartel. I presume you voted out RB in 2011 who at least left a relatively strong Kwacha and bouyant economy. Maybe RB was not your favourite . The alternative in 2015 was HH. He lost. Miles Sampa has no track record. With all HH’s personal business attainments, they are hardly a guarantee for running a macro, political and multi-tribal economy successfully. Our country has been grossly mis-managed since 1991 when multi-party politicians took over. They destroyed a proper civil service and judiciary, so it will take a huge “earth quake” to turn Zambia…

    • Truly VP how do you expect Zambians living in the diaspora to invest in Zambia when they are not considered to be Zambians. Introduce dual nationality and maybe they will. Secondly, government officials should stop stealing. Why should anyone invest when there is so much stealing? Thirdly, fight corruption.
Ethiopians living abroad have invested in their country and this is helping to develop the country because they are made to feel as being part of it. This lack of dual nationality is archaic, vindictive and fueled by pettiness and jealousy. Surely what will an individual lose of one gives up the Zambian citizenship?

  3. # Darius you are prophesying your death if you wish Chagwa to die you will be shocked your demise will be in your mouth watch your words.

  4. Why is saKala still representing Zambian in Northeast when he is now known as a pf Cadre? Pls Zambian s in Northeast choose a non political person to represent you.

    • I am amazed that Henry is still the “leader”, I last meet him 4 years ago. something was wrong in speech, why people folded their arms.

  5. You want Zambians in Diaspora to support your meanwhile you reject them as citizens. You fail to incorporate them at home. You hound them down and frustrate them when they go back. You can come here and feel important when you mingle with them. What a hypocrite. You old and finished leaders are the reason most of them left their beautiful country. Give them a good Constitution, and see how it can help the country at large

    • Mama Wina is an old woman from the Sata era of UNIP surely what would she know about global village…they come abroad and start lecturing us as if we are in the dark and do not know what is really happening on the ground….really laughable.

  6. Really laughable this happens every time when these guys change shift…we have heard this song about unity yet deep down they see us competitors and someone who has come to steal their jobs not as someone bringing something new to the table especially in government companies.
Surely with all due respect mama Wina how can woo American investors or market Zambia when your boss President Lazy has so much faith in madam as a number two that he couldn’t let you cancel your trip and hand you the instruments of power…to him you are merely a token appointment like Scott was to Sata.

  7. Its almost as if dual citizenship is the abracadabra magic wand that will bring development and jobs to Zambia. Patriotic commitment to one’s country does not require it as a pre-requisite as you can do whats necessary for Zambia to develop without it. It is the demand for the double-hearted who have no real loyalty to the country. Let us be serious, of the 10,000++ Zambians in the USA, how many remit money back home, how much and how many times and for what?

For most, as they are largely menial laborers and illegals with wages below or a sliver above minimum wage its a tall order. In any case, as the VP advised the constitutional review process allows them to submit their demand for it through the required channels not through whinges to government officials when they visit the USA.

    • Many cannot even return to Zambia because they are so so illegal they will not be allowed to return to the USA. Prove your patriotism and maybe your brothers and sisters back home will be persuaded to include a provision in the new constitution. Currently, we are light years from being persuaded. I have seen Zambians die like destitutes in the USA without any identity papers or money to repatriate their remains back home….baikalila ati ni ku USA or too ashamed to return home like Aphiri anabwela. I know one who even lives in a car right now and she is too ashamed to ask for help from her relatives back home….bane just come back home to Zambia. Bonse tulafilwa one time or another….come and dust yourself up and start again.

    • @12.1 Kapolyo

They live in a caravan actually because they are completing their Masters studies to save on rentals, and not because of shame.

I know them very well, they are straight up patriotic.

  8. Listen to them!

Gov’t knows when it’s got problems! Dual citizenship they scream……BUT I’m not coming Home nor am I going to practice equality!

    Diaspora stands for:-
Dunderhead, Ignorant, Apelike, St.upid, People of Rebelling Africa.

    citizenship will be

    • Listen to them!

Gov’t knows when it’s got problems! Dual citizenship they scream……BUT I’m not coming Home nor am I going to practice equality!

      Diaspora stands for:-
Dunderhead, Ignorant, Apelike, St.upid, People of Rebelling Africa.

Dual citizenship will be a mistake. These people no longer have pride in being Zambian. Most will be like double agents against their country!

  9. Don’t worry Ma Wina, we will return when the time is right. Diaspora is nothing but a camp where we have pitched our tents. We came, we saw and now we are getting ready to conquer…

Dual citizenship? No, no, not for me! I can never sell my birthright! I love Zambia to the bone.

  10. I would have listened to what she has said if she did not urge Zambians in Diaspora to live unity. What a hypocrite VP. She is condoning violence in PF and back home & now she wants to preach a different message outside. Where was your voice when Mataro cab was burnt? Where you’re your voice when Matapa was murdered? The list would go on and you can’t even unite with GS, Masebo and GBM. Zambia’s international image is already spoiled by you and your PF thugs.

    • This lady is a disappointment. In the home the mother always promotes peace but she has failed to do this in her party. She has hardly voiced her condemnation of the violence that has been going on in the country yet she goes to the States to preach unity to Zambians living there. Hypocrisy!

  11. Ms Inonge Wina how are we supposed to give Zed a good image yet Mmembe and Kabimba will undo our efforts?

Fagia nyumba yako chafu kwanza Ms Wina coz Zed is filthy in more ways than one.

  12. YOU ARE SAYING HENRY SAKALA has prenanted 3 women at the sametime (1 mexican, 2 zambians) we must congratulate him as a NGONI bull and please bring that mexican KID to mother Zambia, WINA must have given him a medal for using his TOOLS wisely in the diaspora

  13. @ Kapolyo. Most Zambians in the USA are pretty educated and comfortable. America is enabling, if one is determined the possibilities are limitless. I’m yet to meet any destitute Zambians. Many have educated themselves, they hold key positions in the health, Engineering and other professional fields. They have acquired properties right here in the US. The average Zambian probably earns more more than a so called Manager in Zambia. And yes they do remit money to Zambia. APhiri anabwera days are in the rear view. Most Zambians come with a game plan. So Kapolyo it’s best to check your facts.

    • There are Zambians who are doing well in the diaspora but there are also those who are there illegally. most of those who are there illegally, ducking and diving had a miserable existence back here, poverty, family problems etc. Why else would anyone who is doing well in Zambia go to another country to live illegally? Some countries in the diaspora are very enabling, good jobs and a feeling of self worth because jobs are given on merit not on “who you know.” I have lived in the UK and know that feeling. When you come back to work here the attitude of those around you is horrible and each time you do something they think you are showing off. A sad and retrogressive attitude. People who want to do things like their forefathers did them.

    • @Professional
You are absolutely spot on…a colleague of mine who is highly qualified and was very employable in UK decided not to renew his work permit when it expired and decided to return to Zambia as he wanted to make a contribution.
He thought he would get a job in Zambia on merit…how wrong he was, the only work he could get was piece work from NGOs and the selfsame friends who encouraged him to come saw him as a threat. They guy stayed in Zambia for a year unemployed and the selfsame friends who encouraged him ridiculed him as he was broke and now staying with his mother. Fortunately for him he had a girlfriend who had naturalised in Europe and had their baby; she sorted out paperwork and he was back to Europe and was employed within a month.

  14. @ Ted M

You are saying our country has been grossly mis-managed since 1991 when multi-party politicians took over. Wrong, since Kaunda introduced his Humanism and Nationalisation Programmes. I just wanted to square this one off.
