Luyanna-Walilowelela

Mampi collaborated with Luyanna for the remix of her hit song “Walilowelela”

LUYANNA, which means “the falling rain” in Native American, was born in January 1989. Raised in Portugal ,Europe,  with Lusitanian roots, she has been immersed in Amerindian and
Latino music since her earliest childhood. With a true passion for the history and culture of Native Americans, Luyanna wanted to pay tribute to them with her music  in order to feel
closer to them every day.

Luyanna’s latest single is a duet with Zambian singer  Mampi, “Walilowelela”. It was officially released on January 12, 2015. It combines tribal, African and Latino music. The video clip shows Africa and its colours, it takes us deep into the Savannah. With an addictive chorus, its wild rhythms take us into a frenzied dance from the very first note. The track is already a part of the playlist of several national radio stations and was released in Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland on February 12, 2015. It is already being portrayed as a hit.

  1. “Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.” – Marcus Aurelius

  2. @Red Umbrella,what jargon is that.There is only one true God,the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob.(Jehovah)
@musho,why Mampi is not in the video? She refused?
    WHAT IS THE SONG ABOUT/MEANING?TOURISM??

  3. This is just rubbish. WILL THE TOURISM INDUSTRY STOP USING THIS TRASHY CROSS OVER FORMULA!! Please, it is totally unrepresentative of Zambia.

This song is not a hit in Europe. It would NOT even make it in the Eurovision a Contest of cheesy euro songs. It is so bad as to question what the Tourism Ministry is trying to portray.

Zambian arts and culture is what needs to be pushed forward. Stop putting euro trash on Zambian Media. All this Milligizis and Luyanna are NOT Zambian indigenous no matter where they were born. This Luyanna is ugly and white trash. Stop trying to make Zmbians White.

    • Zambians are inclusive. But it would be wrong to portray just a white person. Maybe they want to appeal to Europeans. Like the outfit. Quite nice.

  4. I saw this video clip sometime last month and my astonishment was “Where is Mampi in this video despite it naming her?” I even thought this Luyana girl had just used the song without Mampi’s permission 😀
