FINANCE bank proprietor Rajan Mahtani has been arrested by Police in Lusaka for forgery.
Dr. Rajan Mahtan was arrested this morning for two counts of forgery Contracry to Section 344chapter nine of the Penal Code Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
In both counts, Dr. Mahtan is alleged to have jointly and whilst acting with other persons unknown forged a Transfer of 500,000,000 Shares from Zambezi Portland Cement into Finsbury Investment Limited purporting that the forms were dully signed by the Directors of Zambezi Portland Cement when infact not.
In a statement released in Lusaka this afternoon by Police public relations manager Charity Chanda, the offences are alleged to have been committed on 12 December 2006.
Dr. Mahtan has been released on bond and will appear in court soon

Rupiah Banda lost his Kabulonga House in 1998 for a loan and later his wife in 2000 due to depression. Of course RB hit back 10 years later by grabbing Finance Bank and selling it to FNB for a song and has again hit back by discreetly grabbing Zambezi portland using ECL & returning it to the owners, the Italian Mafias. RB will never forgive Mahtani for the death of his wife no matter how much Mahtani apologises cos his wife will never come back to life. Now Mahtani is dancing to RB’s music.

This man allegedly repossessed RB’s house whilst the old man was nursing his first wife in Joburg. Rupiah Banda had retired and he got a loan from FBZ to buy a house. Accorning to the story, it was repossessed when he failed to pay for it. He then went to farm in the Eastern province. When he got back into govt., he wanted to revenge and hence the prosecution of Mahtani. Now, a Banda anabwela, anabwela ku State House.
While I understand RB’s anger of losing his wife, one wife, (God forbid, he should not lose the second younger one), I do not appreciate the two rodents fighting at the expense of so many lives of Zambians that will suffer perhaps even lost as the two battle. There has to be a truce if they are humans with a conscious. This cannot carry on. Do the two guys go to their beds and goodnight sleep. Since the 1998 debacle, assuming 1.6 Neutral is right and had the inside story correct, RB has gone on to achieve more things than he ever dreamed at the time. He has come from a farm to assume vice presidency, presidency, title of former President even married a younger wife, his children have assumed astronomical wealth. He’s a bugger not to forgive.

Involving RB and EL in this matter is being mischievous given the facts on hand.

What I saw this Mahtani man in London with SATA and others I thought he was a very lonely man in a crowd. He kept to himself and I almost was going to talk to him in the characteristic inclusive and African hospitable way but I let it pass. From the hind sight my decision was the best, I could have now been implicated in this forgery furore. If I had talked to him people would have been looking for me thinking I was the mastermind behind the alleged forgeries. Oooohhh, what a near miss. I will cherish this freedom and avoid talking to anyone in the name of Zambian/African hospitableness. Am sure the guy will be fine. The late Dr Chiluba said how he often jumps on the plane and appears wherever the President is going outside the country. We saw him at Mr Sata’s first vist to London since he became President. What was Mathani doing in the entourage? He owns more shares in Finance Bank than the legal 25% through ghost shareholders. He donates money to ALL political parties so that he curries favour with all of them. Mathani is not straight. He used Mr Sata to influence the Attorney General to make the DPP enter a nolle prosequi. When a nolle is entered, you are not acquitted, which means you can be re-arrested. He has now. RB is not the problem here.
