Politics and Justice in Zambia
Looking at the cases of Mr. Chiluba, MP Mushili, Mr. Mpombo and Ms Changwe reveals a lot of disparities. Chiluba’s acquittal and now that the London judgment can not be registered in Zambia remains a mystery. Mushili who was going to defraud the government and the people of Zambia out of millions of Kwacha was only told to sweep offices, nothing else. Minister changwe who’s cheque bounced is still a free lady. Yet Mpombo’s bounced check has sent him to prison and a fee. Could these be normal discrepancies?

The double abuse of Authority by the MMD
The Citizens Democratic Party finds it tragically ironic that the MMD Administration is choosing to abuse its authority granted by our citizens, in attempting to remove the offence of “abuse of authority”, through the revised ACC Act. We applaud the opposing responses to this travesty of a bill that has come from the major opposition, civil-society and private citizens. This action, wantonly defended by the MMD Administration as an apparent “corrective measure” is an ill-conceived diagnosis that has once again demonstrated root problems that will continue to occur as long as our governance system maintains an Executive that has excessive and over-reaching powers
